Bonsai is free to use and always will be. If you'd like to put something behind it, you can give whatever amount suits you — once, with no account needed.
Your donation came through. Stripe has emailed you a receipt. 20% of it goes to the environment at the end of this month, along with everyone else's.

Give what you like
Payments are handled by Stripe. Bonsai never sees your card details, and a donation is a one-off — there is nothing to cancel later.
- 80% is kept by Bonsai — the servers the tutor runs on, and the work of building it.
- 20% is donated to the environment at the end of the month, together with every other donation that month.
This is a gift to a company, not a charitable donation: it is not tax-deductible, and it buys you nothing — no plan change, no extra features, no higher limits. Bonsai is a for-profit company. The environmental share is separate from, and additional to, the carbon Bonsai already removes for every account's usage — see Impact and the month-by-month receipts.
